TKF held its first gradings of the year this weekend starting with the Little Ninjas on the Saturday afternoon which was then followed by the White, Orange and Red Belt grading on the Sunday.
It was great to see everybody giving 100% focus throughout the weekend especially those who were grading for the first time. It was a great standard all round with several distinction passes in the Little Ninja grading. All the Little Ninjas were taken through their syllabus which involved Kihon, Breakfalls, Partner Work, Wrestling and even performing small sections of Kata. To round of the day, TKF saw some brand new Black T-Shirts which meant they had officially all but completed their journey from White T-Shirt to Black T-Shirt. Now they start their new journey as Orange Belts!
The Lower Grade Grading was a huge success with several white belts even managing to Double Grade. This meant their performance allowed them to pass not one grade but two grades so they jumped from an orange belt pass to a red belt pass in the process. They achieved this through a full house of Distinction marks on their kihon, kata and kumite whilst being monitored by a TKF Instructor on the grading panel. Everyone did very well coping under pressure and under a watchful eye of the TKF Instructors.
This month also saw the first of TKFs Private Gradings take place for students who were, for various reasons, unable to grade at the main grading or alternative grading. This is an opportunity for students to build their confidence while under pressure of grading in front if a Instructor. So a big well done goes to Max Forster who passed his Orange Belt (pictured with Matthew) and Elsa Strongroom who passed her Yellow Belt (Pictured with Danny).
