TKF squad members travelled to Glasgow to represent JKS England at the British Karate Federation International Championships. This 2 day competition is probably one of the biggest international competitions of the year with lots of talent coming together to compete in Britain.
Kata events were held on Saturday and Cameron Panday and was part of the gold medal winning team which performed a fantastic Gojushiho Sho to become British Champions. Cameron then continued onto his individual kata event, managing a couple of positive kata rounds to reach the semi-final where he missed out on the bronze medal repecharge final after losing out to the eventual winner. Matthew Yardy missed out on a semi-final place after a couple of good rounds of solid katas.
Kumite events were held on Sunday, Henry Pegge helped his team gain a bronze medal before stepping up and becoming British Champion in his individual category beating some tough opponents on route to the final and then to beat the Scottish champion in the final. Henry was now English (EKF), British (BKF) and World (JKS) Champion. Cody did brilliantly and managed to win several fights in a row to reach the final of his kumite event. Cody managed a hard, but well-earned silver medal.
A massive well done to all the competitors who competed. Here are the results;
💪🏻 Henry Pegge becomes British Champion in Individual Kumite and managed to help his team kumite to Bronze medal!
