On the weekend of 27th and 28th May, the JKS England Squad which consisted of 6 TKF members competed at the highly ranked British Karate Federation 4 Nations Championship.
This competition is one of the highest ranks competitions in the year with some of the best competitors coming from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland to compete at these British Championships.
Henry Pegge came away with a fully deserved Bronze medal after managing to gain a spot in the repecharge final which meant he had narrowly lost out to one of the two finalists in one of the previous rounds. Henry pulled off a great fight to bring the bronze medal home for JKS and TKF.
Our kata representatives all performed very well with Cameron Panday missing out on a repecharge place, Matthew Yardy lost out in the first round narrowly losing 4-1 to the U21 Scottish Champion. Rohan Panday and James Leveridge both performed brilliantly on their first outings at this major competition. The same goes for Cody Gedge who gained valuable kumite experience against a young but very experienced fighter in the first round.
TKF are very proud of all of you. Now it’s back to training for further improvements.
